An open-source content management system (CMS) that powers more than 40% of the web.
WordPress is a GPL-licensed CMS written in PHP and backed by MySQL or MariaDB. It provides an admin dashboard for managing pages, posts, media, users, plugins, and themes. Its ecosystem — thousands of themes and tens of thousands of plugins — is the main reason for WordPress's dominance.
